c'mon let's get real here - the first episode was genius and made everyone hungry for more episodes. but now the focus on what this show is about is as dim as the lighting in the barmitzvah episode. sticking a camera in front of a guy so we can see how offbeat and clever he is is a waste of time. what happen to the soap opera? the stories? the crackling dialogue? who is this guy? the writing on this show was sooo good, now there's no writer at all.

In response to johnz and care: From what I can tell, this show has no exact format - there are the long-form episodes and shorter sketches, and then a few of these things interspersed. Some people seem to be enjoying some more than others, but they don't seem to be abandoning one form for another. It seems pretty unfair to proclaim something dead because you don't like one thing. Cut everyone a break.

this is the first one I have found I can do without, but looking at the screen capture cracks me up.

I agree with johnz... with the excpetion of the possibly implied Bar slight. Embarrassed is sub-par at best. And while I mean no offense, Matt Yeager cannot write comedy. He already demonstrated that in MySpace and we don't need to be reminded of it in every other episode/short.
So please, for Pete's sake, someone take control of the creative direction of The Burg and stop releasing material like this! I don't think this project benefits anyone if it comes across as amateurish and juvenile. To mutilate a metaphor, a chain is only as strong as it's weakest episode ... Mr. genius Woodley there seems to be the strongest link so let him take the helm... they guy, after all, seems to know what he is doing...

Everyone's a fucking critic. The beauty of the internet is that everyone with an opinion gets to voice their two cents in public and somehow thinks they're an expert. Overall I think The Burg is hit-or-miss, but when it's funny, it's fucking funny. When it's not, it's still moderately entertaining, which is more than can be said about most things that are being produced out there. I thought this one was fucking funny. I laughed out loud. That's a plus. I love how some folks are jumping in and giving production advice. Did you guys write to the Seinfeld team and tell them when you thought a joke didn't work as well? Probably. Personally, I like the randomness of the shorts and episodes. Some I don't care for as much as others, but then one like this will come along and really make me laugh. Negative comments or not, the fact that people are commenting means they're still watching. When people stop watching is when you should get worried, but not until then. I, for one, want more.

Yes, we probably are fucking critics... and we all can occasionally be a little too harsh in our comments..., but we are critical because we care. You adore indie projects like this when they are going in the right directions and are annoyed by them when they occasionally turns on you. We forgave Seinfeld's bomb-jokes/episodes or Arrested Development's occasional missteps because we had confidence that creative core would be able to turn it around... Similar situation with the Burg; we watch because we have seen how good the show can be... how great the writing can be.... the directing can be... yet we are not yet sure that they can sustain it yet... we don't have full confidence in them yet, and that discomfort comes out in comments.... And while yes, it may not seem to be especially fair to criticize the running of the show (we are just faceless web posters after all... what do we know), you have to see a little bit where we are coming from. We just want these guys to succeed, and so we post comments. They might be good comments, bad comments, overzealous comments, harsh comments, or glowing comments; it doesn't really matter. We could be wrong in our approach, delivery, or analysis but even then I still think that it is important that we post... after all, that it is the only way the creators will know what we are thinking, for better or worse... and easily ignorable feedback can sometimes be invaluable for projects getting off the ground like this one... or not...either way, no harm done... its all cool... :-)

Is it possible that The Burg has jumped the shark with this webisode?

Early's someone you can rely on to crack you up at least 97 percent of the time. You expect it of him. But then 3 percent of the time, it just doesn't happen, and he kind of goes on and on to compensate, which of course makes it worse. Something seems off about him and suddenly, despite the fact that he makes you laugh 97 percent of the time, you feel like you just can't trust him anymore. Later you find out, he had to go take a dump the whole time.
Give the guy a break. He can't be your DANCING MONKEY all the time. That sweaty brow is a dead give-away: This is a man full of (Ethiopian?) street food.(TM)
